Getting to Barcelona if you are coming from Spain:

You have various options to get to Barcelona, however, if you are coming from another city in Spain, the best options, in order of preference, are: plane (if you find a low-cost company), train, or car.

Fortunately, low cost companies offer cheap flights from many cities. For less than €60 you can have a return ticket to Barcelona.

Travelling by train is also very comfortable, you leave it at night and be in Barcelona the following morning, but don’t forget to book a bed on the train otherwise you won’t be very fresh in the morning. ;-) (The beds are very comfortable, even though they don’t seem so). The price is similar to a plane ticket; the advantage is that you sleep on the train).

If you are a few passengers, travelling by car is the cheapest, but it isn’t recommendable since parking prices in Barcelona are sky-high, and parking on the streets for a few days is not the best option. Moreover, driving in Barcelona can be very slow and stressing. The best option is the underground (Metro).

Getting to Barcelona from other places:

By plane or by train. Evidently, a good price in a low cost company is the best option,, even though travelling by train is very comfortable.

Getting to Barcelona by ship:

Barcelona has one of the main harbours for Mediterranean cruises. Nearly all of them have Barcelona on their routes. Moreover, many people start or finish their cruise in Barcelona. This can be a very interesting option since you can spend a few days in Barcelona before or after the cruise.
