Emblematic buildings in London

London is a very beautiful city, with a lot of history and therefore with a lot of historic buildings, known worldwide for contributing in the creation of the London image: an image of an enormous city, with a lot of things to do and see, with history and culture.

As follows, we comment you the main places of interest in London.

Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament


The famous Big Ben of London.
The figure of the clocl tour of London has become famous worldwide with the name of Big Ben. It was called with that name in honour to Sir Benjamen Bell, the functionary that installed the bell.

Located on Westminster district and situated next to Westminster Palace, the clock offers the time to the London people since 1858. It can't be visited, but take a picture of the tour: it is the most photographed picture of the city!

On the other hand, and next to it, you will see the Houses of Parliament or Westminster Palace, that can be visited.

Westminster Abbey

Known with the name of Westminster Abbey, the cathedral of London is also located in Westminster area, very closed to Big Ben. It is a gothic cathedral and the place where take place all the ceremonies of the British monarchy. In Westminster Abbey were buried the main figures of this monarchy, as Lady Di.

Globe Theatre

Globe Theatre is the famous theatre of William Shakespeare. In fact, the current building is a reconstruction of the old theatre constructed on 1559 by William Sahakespeare company, which was destructed by the fire.

The theatre can be visited, and the visit includes a guide which explains the particularities of the theatre. Apart from watching the interior of the theatre, it is a good way to get in touch with the history of the time.

London Eye


London Eye is a surprising wheel which offers incredible sights over Thames river and all the city of London. The capsules of this wheel are made of glass and can lodge up to 10 people. It is the highest wheel in the world, of about 135 metres.

It's worth paying the 18 euros of the ticket just to enjoy the sights of the city. With no doubt, when you are in the capsule you feel like being a privileged bird and, furthermore, you'll be able to take some incredible panoramics of the city. The entire ride takes about 30 minutes.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British Monarchy. In fact, it is nowadays the Queen's official residence.

The only thing that visitors can do is watch and enjoy its façade, which is beautiful, and seet the Changing of the Guard. Besides that, it has anything more to offer, because it can't be visited.

Tower Bridge


Tower Bridge of London is located in Thames river and very closed to the Tour of of London, that is the reason of its name. Nowadays, both tours of the brdige offer an exposition, known with the name of Tower Bridge Experience. Don't forget to take a picture of it!
