London neighbourhoods

Another attraction in London are its neighbourhoods, some of them are lovely and are configured by characteristic little houses and pubs. Among them, maybe the most famous one is Notting Hill, known by the film of the same name and featured by Hugh Grant.

But apart from this well known neighbourhood, we suggest you to visit another onesPero a parte de este bien conocido barrio, te proponemos que te pasees por algunos otros barrios también muy singulares y bonitos.

Notting Hill

Notting Hill neighbourhood is a well known residential neighbourhood with little houses with façades known for its particular colors. It is very closed to Hyde Park and it is located on the west side of the city.

In Notting Hill you'll find terraces and bars located in victorian style buidlings. It is a very smart neighbourhood, and in August there is the Notting Hill Carnival, a caribbean carnival.

Furthermore, in Notting Hill takes place another importnat market in London: Portobello Road Antique Market, which is also very interesting. Remember that it only works on Saturdays.

Richmond

Richmond neighbourhood, located on the south-west side of the city, can be an excellent option to spend an afternoon. This neighbourhood is located just next to Thames river, and has a big quantity of parks, gardens, pubs, restaurants and shops.

It is a very smart neighbourhood, where important personalities have lived, like George Eliot on the XIX century; the philosopher Bertrand Russell; Virginia Wolf (she lived in Hogarth House, in Paradise Road); the compère Richard Attenborough; Mike Jagger and Pink Floyd.

China Town

China Town, as its name tells us, is the Chinese neighbourhood of London. As in any other big city, in London there is also one. It is very closed to Picadilly Circus, next to Leicester Square. It is not very big and is built of four or five streets full of restaurants (mainly Chinese ones, of course).

Why should I visit the Chinese neighbourhood? It could be an excellent option to find a restaurant. As you may know, eating in London is extremely expensive. So, searching for a buffet restaurant in China Town can be an excellent option. They are really cheaper than any other neighbourhood in the city.

In China Town you'll also find sops, the ones that sell Chinese stuff, obviously. You'll be able to buy souvenirs, gifts, food and more things.

Don't forget the two Chinese "doors" that welcome you, they are really nice.
