Getting to Sardinia if you come from Spain:

The best way to get to Sardinia if you come from Spain is to search for a low-cost airlines company. Leaving from Girona-Costa Brava airport there is a low-cost company that goes to Alghero. Leaving from Madrid you have several options, but all the companies go to Cagliari, the capital of the island and it's located in the South, far from Alghero.

Getting to Sardinia if you come from a other places:

The best option is still to find a good flight offer. As we've already said, the majority of the tourists in Sardinia come from Italy. The majority of them travel by plane from the biggest cities in Italy to Olbia airport, in Costa Smeralda region, which is bigger than Alghero airport.

There are other airlines companies that offer flights from other european cities to Olbia or Cagliari.

Other options to get to Sardinia:

The truth is that, as it is an island, apart from taking a flight offer, there aren't a lot of options to get to Sardinia. If you come from Corsica, you have several options, because Corsica is very close to Sardinia (in fact, from Sardinia you can see the coast of Corsica in a calm day.

The most common is to take a ferry that ships people and vehicles to Sardinia. These boats stop in  the east part of the island, in Costa Smeralda region. You can also take these boats to visit Corsica if you are spending some days in Costa Smeralda.
