What is exactly Venice?

Venice is a city formed by a lot of islands, around 200 islands, connected between them by 400 bridges. The city is part of Treviso region, formed by different islands like Murano.

When is the ideal time to visit Venice?

The ideal time to visit Venice is from mid February until the end of May/beginning of June. Take into account that Venice is a small city but extremely tourist, so from this time on it's fully crowded.

Furthermore, as soon as it starts the heat, the humidity in the atmosphere is quite high and the water in the channels smells a lot. During February, when we visited it, even some little channels with the water swamped smelled a little.

How many days should I stay in Venice?

Three days are completely enough in order to visit the city. Even two intensive days would be enough. This aspect converts the city into a perfect place to spend a nice weekend, to make a quick trip or to combine it with another italian city.

If you want to visit the surrounding islands, you'll need 4 or 5 days in order to have enough time.

How much is it  going to cost me?

Venice isn't a cheap city, on the contrary, before arriving is better for you to plan your budget and decide how much you want to spend. By doing this, you'll be able to control your expenses. If not, the trip will result in an authentic fortune! Just as an example, a capuccino in San Marco square can cost you 7,50 €.

Nevertheless, if you are a couple and control your expenses, four days (three nights) can cost you 400 €, more or less, as long as you watch your expenses. Otherwise, your budget will shoot up.
